That sucks indeed. IDK if it might help you, but in my experience people are more likely to be honest when I preemptively tell them during the discussion phase that they can expect me to be honest instead of ghosting them.

i haven't even gotten responses back from opening questions and I can understand being busy but like? am I blocked already or you just can't tell me no?
