    Need some ideas of how to gracefully change character name for an RP that's been going for over a year.

    My sister is dating a guy with the same name as one of the main characters in one of my longest running RPs and now every time I try to post I think of him and I'm turned off.

    Depends what you mean by graceful, assuming you don't just need told to talk to your partner(s), maybe e try a common nickname/long version of the current name, or it meaning is more your thing try finding a name with the same meaning but in a different language

    The character needs to go into hiding and changes their name…. The character found their birth certificate and its not the same name as the one they have now…… the character moves to a new town and there picks up a new identity.

    Speedy recovery! I caught COVID for the first time last summer (someone at my wedding had it and passed it to me), and now I must suffer with long-COVID symptoms.

    Covid test came back positive. So whatever I had a couple weeks ago was probably something else but now I have COVID. Whether this means more or less replies depends on what type of sick I am.

    Still don't feel 100% and someone I hang out with a lot was recently diagnosed with COVID so... maybe I have that. I got my booster in October. They couldn't get boosted for a medical reason. I think they keep getting sick from work because people around here just act like COVID and the flu is "just a cold".

    Right? Especially because the other person that's sick never really recovered from the first time they had COVID and they have a recurring chest infection now. They used to NEVER get sick. Also the flu isn't "just a cold" either the only time I've been sick in the ER was with the flu (though COVID was a close second) and I needed 5 IV bags I was so dehydrated.

    I just turned 31 and so many people here are 30 or over (which makes sense if I recognize most of you from an old RP site that went down way back in the day) and I'm like "were all just... adults... talking about taxes and stuff... it makes other 18+ sites I've been on feel like... a college campus...

    @thom Maybe they just suck at writing mature characters :) Also not really sure how you'd be able to tell a 19 year old and a 25 year old apart with such certainty. Maturity isn't a linear progression, lol. I've had more 40+ year olds throwing fits in my messages over petty, immature things than people my age or younger but I'm not gonna make sweeping generalisations regardless

    Update on the momma cat and kitten. Kitten is CONVINCED it's spicy which is funny because as soon as I pick him up he calms down. Like "oh that's so cute". Momma cat is letting me pet her! Kinda! Like a couple pets before it gets to be too much, but that's an improvement!

    No... no... my body is definitely fighting off an illness of some sort. I'm kinda more tired than usual and my nose is runny and stuffy and my throat kinda hurts.

    I wouldn't say I feel *sick* but I guess my body is definitely trying to fight off an infection so if I disappear or post less often or something you can just assume I did get sick

    I might be getting sick? I thought it was just allergies but I have a swollen lymph node. If I disappear the next few days, I'm probably just sick. I like never get swollen lymph nodes.

    There is an uncanny valley thing with a lot of their expressions. Their eyes often don't seem to emote properly, there's a weird emptiness in a lot of them.

    Which is funny because it's literally my character making omelets. But what's funny about it is the prices of eggs have probably gone up by 100% since I first started driving the RP towards this post. Now the idea of my character having the money to buy eggs for omelets is probably a testament of his wealth. xD

    @Insanity123~ the kitten is big enough to run away but hasn't been weened off his momma yet (he's so fast!)

    We do have a trap with wet food in it. She went in last night, but something got in the way from the trap closing. It didn't seem to scare her. But now we're waiting for her to go back into the trap

    I've been teaching him wet kitten food today (he's old enough to eat it). So at least theirs that. First couple of times I had to open his mouth to put the small pieces in. Then I only had to put it in front of his mouth. Then I only had to hold him in front of the wet kitten food. So at least kitten is okay until we get momma.

    She hadn't weened him yet but he's too old for kitten formula. So... doing my best here
