Sometimes, I feel like everyone is waiting for someone to reach out to them. You might just have to initiate a PM with someone to get things going. I wish you luck in satisfying that craving, though!
What Gelato said. Personally, I think of request threads as information pages. They're less ads for roleplays, and more an information page people refer to when looking up your preferences/ideas.
Essentially, it's something that only seems to be useful AFTER you've already found someone to RP with.
It's different from what I'm used to too xD
Probably best to wait for Gelato or someone else to provide advice feedback on the matter though since I'm just speaking from observation. (I don't do 1x1's anymore).
But at the very least, the earlier advice of throwing out a few private messages out probably won't hurt.
@Sahja I've had people reach out to me and I have had to reach out to people to start a RP. I don't think that's changed over the years, but just look into the search area of the forum and PM people who are currently looking.
You could look into the one-on-one (actual roleplay) section of the forum and see if there's anyone that stands out to you? Most people who are active are willing to take on more roleplays... it's less about knowing. And more about just taking the initiative and shooting out many messages and hoping someone replies. I feel like YD is exceptionally bad when it comes to people bumping their request threads.
