I tried but couldn't get into vaping. I know some people who do it because the side-effects from Chantix was way too fucking much, causing nightmares and shit. I managed with the gum and patches but it was annoying AF getting the scripts.
Do what works for you but stay vigilant where you get your juice. There's a lot of assholes who mixed up whatever without checking and include chemicals that shouldn't be atomized into vape.
I'm honestly just addicted to the sensory experience of both vaping and smoking so it's honestly a lot easier for me than most people. If I can do it in the least harmful way possible I'm probably only going to worry if it somehow becomes a health concern, but that's pretty rare since I'm not using smoke or nicotine.
I know there was stuff about popcorn lung or whatever the hell it was called. But even I'm not 100% and think it was more related to unregulated chemicals mixed. Otherwise I know I've heard of herbal vapes but don't know much about those either. Almost sounds like you treat it like a cigar, where you don't inhale the smoke, just pull it into your mouth and then release it?
I definitely inhale, but with the ingredients in most of what I use I'm basically just inhaling air flavored with essential oils? I don't really see how unhealthy that could be
As long as you're checking what's in the juice. Like I mentioned, it's when assholes add shit that shouldn't be cooked that shit gets bad for the body. I don't remember all the different chemicals but the biggest deal was diacetyl causing popcorn lung and it was a commonly used in flavoring juices. Think the FDA got involved because of it? That's the only thing I remember out of vaping stuff.
As someone who vapes who used to regularly smoke cigs, there are bound to be health issues. Now, the “scare” they were doing is over the top, and a lot of that research and the sort was done by big tobacco (hell, I’ve even heard an ad that flat out states smoking cigs is “better” for you than vaping, which is a load bs). One of the “dangers” of vaping, however, (tbd in follow-up)
